Marcie Lipscomb, delegate to the 49th United Nations Commission on the Status of Women '05, New York City will speak on the subject, "Women Repairing The World".

Lipscomb represented the Episcopal Church in the United States (as a NGO, non-government organization) along with over 5000 women from every corner of the world. She was invited to this two-week international gathering of women because of her travels and special interest in global peace building in East Africa, and women's issues that affect us here at home.

The very important work of the United Nations Commission around the world affects women's civil rights, health, economic status, and education. Issues within the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDG's) established in 2000 and passed by all member nations will be addressed in Lipscomb's provocative presentation. You will be challenged to think about women's needs, trials and strengths in a broad new view.

Libscomb's professional background is in public communications and finance. She is presently owner and president of LifeWay Concepts, LLC which is dedicated to peace building in personal relationships and organizations and life coaching. Lipscomb's husband, John B. Lipscomb, is the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Southwest Florida.
